Renovation
to the well hand pump at Mae Winterton Cornerstone
Nursery School. This renovation was needed as a result
of the over enthusiastic use of the pump when there was
a serious bush fire in the area.
Two
wells in the Women's Garden done in memory of
Dave Owen's wife Ruth. This is already included on the
web site.
Anglican Mission Computer room. Staffordshire Police Child
Abuse Investigation Unit have raised £1000 towards
the completion of this project.
Alsager
School 6th form have raised funds towards the re-generation
of the school garden at the Anglican Mission School.
The initial stages of providing fence posts and wire netting
has been completed and the first seasons crops harvested.
The funding is now available for the provision of a pump
for the existing well which has also been deepened has
been made available. It is hoped the future funding will
enable a second well to be dug at the opposite end of
the garden to save the pupils from having to carry water
quite so far.
A couple from Lancashire
have provided the funding to the provision of a well
at Jamisa Primary school in Brickama which is
in the west of the country.
Maka Farafenni
Primary school has been built as a result of
the Carpenter, Rees, Jackson groups fund raising event.
This involved the intrepid group cycling over the Pyrenees,
following the Tour de France route. This fund raiser also
funded the sending out of two containers full of equipment.
Poole Alcock Solicitors and Amelia Goodwin are funding
the kitchen and toilet block at Maka Farafenni school.
Kaur. Denise Hall-Trafford
and friends sponsored the building of a Kitchen
at the Nursery school.
International Health Partners
(IHP) became involved with the Charity as a result of
several people funding Medical packs which were sent out
to some of the hospitals and clinics in
The Gambia. IHP are now working in many areas in The Gambia
in their own right.
Eaton Bank School, Congleton
raised £3300 which has been used to renovate the
well, built a kitchen and is enabling
the school garden to be re-established as well as buying
school materials, at Kundam.
Mow Cop Church provided
the funds to enable the provision of a new kitchen
at Ballingho Lower Basic School.
A community garden
at Fofama was sponsored by Julie Quincy.
Six container
loads of school furniture, books, sports equipment,
computers, stationery clothes etc. have been sent over
to The Gambia. These have been distributed to many schools
in the North Bank and Upper River divisions of The Gambia.
